Hot Bollywood Actress Asin facts
Asin is a beautiful Indian film actress
She did her schooling at Naval Public School, Cochin in Kerala and graduated with a B.A. degree in English Literature from St. Theresa's College.
Asin first assisted her father Joseph Thotumkal in business and also took up modeling on the side.
She appeared for television commercials like Colgate Toothpaste and Fairever Cream.
She made her acting debut with Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam movie "Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka" in 2001 starring Malayalyee actor Kunjachacko Boban.
Asin got her first commercial success with the Telugu movie "Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi" in 2003 which won her the Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress.
She later acted in several hit Telugu movies such as "Shivamani" [2003], "Gharshana" [2004], "Lakshmi Narasimha" [2004], "Chakram" [2005], "Annavaram" [2006] and others.
Asin won Santosham Best Actress Award for her performance in her second Telugu film "Shivamani" in 2004 starring Nagarjuna.
Asin got a breakthrough role of Kalpana in a Tamil movie "Ghajini" in 2005 starring the famous Tamil film actor Surya and Malayalm actress Nayantara.
Her fabulous performance in "Ghajini" [2005] won her another South Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
Asin also performed in many hit movies like "M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi" [2004], "Ullam Ketkumae" [2005], "Sivakasi "[2005], "Maja" [2005], "Dasavatharam" [2008] and many other films.
She made her debut in bollywood with "Ghajini" [2008] starring alongside the bollywood star Aamir Khan. This movie is a remake of Tamil version of "Ghajini" [2005].
Asin won Filmfare Best Hindi Debut Award for her fantastic performance in Hindi remake of "Ghajini" [2008]. She also received Screen Weekly Awards nomination for her performance in Hindi "Ghajini" [2008].
Asin acted in Vipul Shah's movie "London Dreams" [2009] alongside famous bollywood actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
She is now shooting for trilingual international project titled "19th Step" in English, Japanese and Tamil in which she co-stars with Kamal Hassan and Tadanobu Asano. Asin is going to play the role of an Indian princess who falls in love with a Japanese Warrior who comes to ancient Tamilakam to learn the ancient Dravidian martial art of Kalaripayattu from a veteran.
