Ajay Devgan born as Vishal Veeru Devgan on April 2nd, 1969 in Delhi, India is a versatile great actor in Bollywood. Ajay Devgan won several awards such as Filmfare Awards, Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards and the most prestigious National Film Awards, which he won twice for his brilliant performance in "Zakhm" {1998} and the "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" {2002}. His awesome portrayal of a man torn by jealousy in "Omkara" {2006} is but one of his numerous award winning performances.
Ajay Devgan is the son of famous stunt master Veeru Devgan and mother Veena Devgan. Ajay Devgan has a brother named Anil Devgan, who is a film director in his own right.
After graduating from Mithibai College dashing Ajay Devgan began his movie career with "Phool aur Kante" in 1991. His performance in the movie was on par with a seasoned actor. It never looked like he is making his debut. On the contrary he rendered the job like a veteran actor. In a career spanning sixteen years Ajay Devgan has almost acted in more than seventy movies donning various kinds of roles from that of an action hero to serious to comical to villainous ones and excelled in each of the characters he played.
His stunning performances in movies like "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha" {1998}, "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" {1999}, Ram Gopal Varma's "Drama Company" {2002}, "Yuva" {2004}, "Kaal" {2005}, "Golmaal" {2006} have all proved his versatility as an intense actor.
With seventy movies to his credit Ajay Devgan seems to have gained enough experience and is now making his directorial debut with "U, Me Aur Hum". He is also playing a lead role in the movie along with his wife Kajol Devgan. His other forthcoming movies "Sunday", "Golmaal Returns" and "London Dreams" are all slated to be released in 2008.
The dashing versatile actor Ajay Devgan has had his share of romantic flings in Bollywood. He dated Karisma Kapoor for a while and after breaking up with her he romantically hooked up with the dusky beauty Kajol, daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja. After five long years of hot romance with Kajol, Ajay Devgan finally married her on February 24th, 1999. The couple together has a daughter named Nysa Mukherjee Devgan born on April 20th, 2003.
