Deepika Padukone daughter of former World badminton Champion Prakash Padukone made her foray into films after a successful career in the modeling arena. She started modeling soon after her schooling. She is known as the “Liril girl” after her advertisement campaign for Liril. She is also famous for her advertisement for Close Up toothpaste and Limca. Deepika debuted in the international scene by becoming the international cover face of Maybelline. Deepika Padukone was awarded ‘Model of the Year’ at the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards and was chosen as one of the top models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar in the year 2006.
