Filippo Inzaghi Biography

Filippo Inzaghi born on August 9th, 1973; in Piacenza is a marvelous footballer. His millions of fans affectionately call him Superpippo or Superpippo Inzagol for his great football talents. Superpippo is the Italian name of Disney character Super Goof. Filippo Inzaghi's secret of success lay in his being in the right position at the right time and that made him the highest goal scorer in official European football competitions. He scored 62 goals and is the record holder along side Gerd Muller.
Johann Cruyff remarked about Inzaghi saying, "Look, actually he can't play football at all. He's just always in the right position." While Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson said, "Pippo Inzaghi was born in an offside position."
Filippo Inzaghi made his Serie A debut while playing for Parma F C in 1995. The following season he moved to Atlanta BC and became the top scorer with 24 goals. In 2001-02, Filippo Inzaghi moved to AC Milan. Despite his knee injury Filippo Inzaghi formed a formidable partnership with Andriy Shevchenko and inspired AC Milan to 2002-03 Champions League win along with the 2002 Coppa Italia and the 2003-04 Scudetto.
In 2005-06 season Filippo Inzaghi showed his brilliance by scoring 12 goals in 22 Serie A matches. On May 23rd of 2007, Filippo Inzaghi was in his best of forms where he scored both goals for AC Milan in a 2-1 decider against Liverpool FC. He later said after the match, "It's a dream since I was a child to score twice in the final, and the ones I scored yesterday evening were the most important in my life. It was an unforgettable game. It's something that will stay with me all my life and two goals in the final speak for itself."
Filippo Inzaghi dons his cap for Italy and has since scored 25 goals from 57 appearances. He was the top goal scorer for Italy during the qualifying rounds of the 2002 World Cup. Despite his persistent knee and ankle injuries Filippo Inzaghi is still a wonderful footballer, whose sharp instincts always put him in the right place at the right time.
