Sexy Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif was born to a Kashmiri father and an English mother on July 16th, 1984. She was brought up in Hawaii and started modeling at the age of 14 in London.
Katrina Kaif was given a role by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad in his film ‘Boom’. Even though the film bombed at the box office Bollywood welcomed this beautiful lady with open arms. Katrina Kaif soon moved permanently to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments. She started off with photographer Atul Kasbekar. Later she got offers from Lakme, which made her popular. She also modeled for LG, Fevicol, Pantene, Veet, Kodak, and L’Oreal. She was chosen as the face of the year for the Lakme India Fashion Week (2005). In 2005 she starred in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ opposite Salman Khan and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar’. ‘Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye’ with Akshay Kumar followed.
Because of her linguistic shortcomings, filmmakers were hesitant to give her offers. Her voice was dubbed in films she acted. This changed with the film, Namastey London along side Akshay Kumar & later Apne, in which she dubbed her own lines. Her hard work to improve her Hindi and her dancing skills has been fruitful as her latest movies ‘Partner’ with Salman Khan and Govinda was a huge hit.
Katrina Kaif has also done few movies down south and is a popular face there already. She has done two Telugu movies - Malliswari (2004) and Allari Pidugu (2005) and a Malayalam film (Balram vs. Taradas). She hates to discuss her personal life with media and refuses to share any details of her relation with Salman khan. During the shooting of film ‘Namastey London’, Katrina Kaif entered into a controversy for wearing a sexy mini-skirt in Dargah. The director of the film Vipul shah also had to bear lot of flak for this incident. Extremely hot and talented, Katrina Kaif frequently tops the list of the Hottest Actresses in Bollywood.
