Black was critically acclaimed for her stellar performance as a deaf, dumb and blind girl. This film earned her fame internationally also. In February 2005, Filmfare Magazine published her face among the "Ten Most Powerful Names of Bollywood". Rani Mukherjee was the only woman to receive such an honor. She was ranked eighth on the Power List in February 2006, configuring the highest ranking for a woman.
