Wayne Rooney Wayne Mark Rooney simply known as Wayne Rooney born on October 24th, 1985 in Liverpool is a marvelous English football player, who earned several honors and accolades for his football skills. He won the PFA Team of the Year in 2005, FIFPro World Young Player of the Year in 2005, and FIFPro Young Player of the Year twice in 2005 and 2006. Wayne Rooney dons the cap for England national team.


Wayne Rooney is the son of Thomas Wayne Rooney and Jeanette Rooney. He has two brothers, one elder Graham and the younger John. Wayne Rooney started playing football since he was a child and his football career began with Everton FC in 2002. Wayne Rooney shot into limelight when he scored a memorable goal against Arsenal, which ended their 30-month unbeaten run and gave Everton FC a 2-1 victory. With that goal he also became the youngest ever goal scorer in the Premiership. Continuing his amazing form Wayne Rooney scored for England four goals in three group matches in Euro 2004.
At the height of his success, Wayne Rooney joined Manchester United in August 2004 for £31 million [£49 million including wages] and was considered the most expensive teenage footballer ever - a few weeks short of his 19th birthday. Justifying the deal Wayne Rooney on his Manchester United debut scored a hat-trick and an assist against Fenerbahce and finished the match at 6-2 win for Manchester United.

He soon rose to become the captain of Manchester United and became the youngest ever captain in the clubs' history. Displaying his brilliance in football, Wayne Rooney spurred Manchester United to the Premier League Champions in 2006-07, League Cup Win in 2006, Community Shield in 2007 and FA Cup Runners up in 2005a and 2007. In spite of this, Wayne Rooney's aggressive behavior on the field has on several occasions landed him in trouble forcing him to exit from matches with Red cards being slapped at him.

Wayne Rooney was romantically involved with his childhood sweetheart from school days, Coleen McLoughlin, who is allegedly branded as a compulsive shopper. Wayne Rooney was also featured in Asda, Nokia, Nike, Ford and Coca Cola advertising campaigns. In March of 2006, Wayne Rooney got his autobiography, 'My Story So Far' published by HarperCollins. It was allegedly ghost-written by Hunter Davies.
